We do not offer a broad menu of consulting services. Each of the three engagements below has been designed around a specific kind of decision that Sabah-based businesses commonly face.

Each Tuah Advisory engagement follows the same general sequence, adapted to the specific nature of the work. We begin with a structured information-gathering phase — reviewing documents, conducting interviews with the principal and relevant team members, and (where relevant) visiting the operation. We then move into an analysis phase, during which we work through the material and develop a considered view. The engagement concludes with a written document and a closing conversation.
The written document is the central deliverable. It is written to be clear to a reader who was not part of the engagement process, and it explicitly distinguishes between our factual findings, our analysis, and the areas where judgement calls belong to the client.

Tourism Operator Strategy Review
A four-week engagement for tour operators, dive resorts and hospitality businesses based in Sabah and the wider Borneo region. The review takes a careful look at the current customer mix, seasonal exposure, cost structure and operational dependencies, and returns a written summary identifying two or three areas where considered effort over the next year is most likely to be worthwhile.
The aim is to be useful to operators who already know their business well — a thoughtful outside reading rather than a prescription. Includes a site visit and a closing conversation with the principal.

Cross-Sector Diversification Advisory
A measured advisory for established Sabah-based businesses considering whether and how to extend their operations into adjacent sectors — a tourism business looking at agribusiness, for example, or a trading house looking at logistics.
Over ten weeks we work alongside the leadership team to test the underlying logic of the proposed move, model the financial implications under several plausible scenarios, and prepare a written recommendation that addresses both the commercial opportunity and the practical demands the new activity will place on the firm.

Regional Holding Structure Review
A senior engagement for groups whose interests now span several sectors and several states, and whose current holding structure has accumulated rather than been designed. Over four months we work with the principal, the chief financial officer and the firm's external advisors to document the current shape, set out the considerations that should inform a redesigned structure, and prepare a written framework that the board can use as the basis for further work with tax counsel and corporate lawyers.
We do not provide tax or legal opinion; we frame the questions that those professionals will need to answer.

What applies across all our work
Confidentiality
All client information is treated as strictly confidential. Confidentiality clauses are included in every engagement agreement as standard.
Written Agreements
Scope, deliverables, timeline and fee are documented in writing before work begins. No ambiguity about what is and is not within the engagement.
Independent Analysis
We carry no affiliated financial products and have no institutional relationships that create a conflict of interest. Our conclusions are formed independently.
Data Protection
Client data is handled with care and in compliance with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010. Data is not retained beyond the engagement period without explicit agreement.
Senior-Led Work
The principal advisor on your engagement does the analysis, writes the document, and leads the closing conversation. Work is not delegated to junior staff after the briefing.
Peer Review
All written outputs are reviewed by a second advisor before delivery. This is a standing internal standard, not something we offer selectively.
Engagement fees
All fees are fixed and stated in the engagement letter before work begins. Prices in Malaysian Ringgit.
